The site produces ethyl alcohol, diethyl ether and specialty polymers. The specialty polymers produced here include microfine powders used as additives in personal care products and in lubricants.

Edison, NJ The Edison plant manufactures the company’s Avant ZN catalysts used in the production of polypropylene plastic resins.

The site also hosts a facility owned by W. R. Grace for the preparation of custom catalysts and components. LyondellBasell provides maintenance, logistics, training and site safety services, but the two companies hold separate environmental permits.

 　 　 　
Newark, NJ 　 　 　 Originally constructed in 1954, the plant produces denatured alcohol used in a wide variety of customer products including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and personal care items, disinfectants, cleaning solutions and industrial solvents.

Channelview, TX 　 Two olefin units at the north side facility manufacture ethylene, propylene, butadiene and benzene. Chocolate Bayou, TX 　 　 　 The Chocolate Bayou Complex consists of two fully integrated sites: chemicals and polymers. The chemical facility features an olefins unit that produces ethylene, propylene, benzene, and butadiene. The polymer facility uses ethylene to produce high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resin.

LyondellBasell operates and maintains approximately 1,400 miles of pipelines in Texas and Louisiana. Our pipelines move products such as ethylene, polymer grade propylene, chemical grade propylene, butadiene, benzene, pyrolysis gasoline and hydrogen. Feedstocks such as condensates, diesels, natural gasolines, butane, propane, ethane, natural gas, butylenes and raffinates are also moved through our pipeline system.

Indelpro is a joint venture between LyondellBasell and Alpek (part of the petrochemical group of ALFA). The company is Mexico’s leading producer of polypropylene (PP).

The company’s manufacturing plant, based on the Spheripol PP process, is located in Altamira, Tamaulipas, and has a capacity of 240,000 tons per year. Indelpro is also building a new 350,000-ton Spherizone PP plant at Altamira.

LyondellBasell is the largest producer of polypropylene in South and Central America, with wholly owned businesses in Brazil and Argentina, and commercial representatives throughout the region.

The Lyondell Quimica do Brasil sales office in São Paulo, Brazil, provides regional sales coverage for chemicals and fuels. The office began operations in 1991 and has expanded as our presence has grown in the region.

　

　

Headquartered in The Netherlands, LyondellBasell is the largest producer and marketer of polypropylene and polyethylene in the region, with production sites in six countries throughout Western and Eastern Europe.

Our Advanced Polyolefins Business, also based in The Netherlands, operates polypropylene compounding plants in four European countries and two advanced polyolefins plants in The Netherlands and one in Italy.

Our Technology Business, based in Frankfurt, Germany, is comprised of process licensing, catalyst sales, technology services and new ventures. It operates catalyst production plants in Ferrara, Italy and Frankfurt and Ludwigshafen, Germany.

LyondellBasell adds higher performance HDPE capacity

A 320,000 tonnes HDPE plant has gone into production at LyondellBasell's Münchsmünster site in Germany. The plant uses the Hostalen Advanced Cascade Process which LyondellBasell says produces HDPE with better properties than standard bimodal HDPE performance - advanced toughness/stiffness balance, superior impact resistance, higher stress crack resistance, good organoleptics and processing advantages. Typical applications are in thin-wall packaging, caps and closures, large blow mouldings and textiles for packaging.
     LyondellBasell also has HDPE production in Frankfurt and Wesseling, Germany and a joint venture in Plock, Poland, which all use the Hostalen ACP technology.

LyondellBasell Australia is headquartered in Melbourne, Victoria and is the sole manufacturer of polypropylene (PP) in Australia. Polypropylene is a base material used in the manufacture of countless goods and products that enhance the quality of life for people around the world.

Polypropylene resins are manufactured at two sites, Geelong, Victoria, and Clyde, New South Wales, which obtain propylene and ethylene gas feedstock from local refineries and petrochemical plants.

A joint venture of LyondellBasell Australia, PolyPacific Pty Ltd, located in Dandenong, Victoria, produces, markets and sells polypropylene compounds used in specialised applications such as automotive bumpers.

LyondellBasell Australia employees approximately 175 people, including chemical process operators, engineers, laboratory staff, instrument/electrical tradespeople , finance management and support, logistics and sales personnel and others.
