Joint Venture with Hudson Products Corporation
Zamil Industrial, an
international manufacturing and fabrication group, announced
the launch of a new 50:50 joint venture with Hudson Products
Corporation - through its affiliate Hudson Products Middle
East LLC, a world leading manufacturer of Air Cooled Heat
Exchangers. The total investment in this venture is about SAR
75 million (USD 20 million).
The partnership, which will operate from Dammam, Saudi
Arabia, will focus on the manufacture, assembly and
maintenance of Air Cooled Heat Exchangers serving utility,
petroleum, chemical, oil and gas processing and industrial
customers in the Middle East, Africa, and central Asia.

of SR 2.0 billion (US$ 533 million).
Sipchem actively
develops and invests in petrochemical and chemical
industries, both basic and intermediate to produce
chemicals used to manufacture a multitude of products

Sipchem currently produces over one million mtpa of
methanol and 75 thousand mtpa of butanediol.
For the
attainment of sustainable growth according to a special

Sipchem started construction of a major Acetyls Complex
which consists of Acetic Acid plant (460
thousand mtpa), Vinyl Acetate Monomer plant (330 thousand
mtpa) and Carbon Monoxide plant (345 thousand mtpa). Commercial operation of
these plants is scheduled to start in the first quarter
of 2009.
In November 2006,
Sipchem announced its massive, fully
integrated olefins and derivatives complex as part of its phase-III
development. The complex will consist of an olefins
cracker for producing ethylene and propylene and 16
integrated plants producing various value-added
performance products scheduled to start in 2013. This
mega project will allow Sipchem to meet its objective of
producing and selling more than 5.0 million tons per year
of petrochemicals and chemical products globally.

ThyssenKrupp Uhde bags Sipchem’s
PBT resin plant contract in Saudi Arabia
Sipchem Chemicals Company (LLC), an affiliate of Saudi International
Petrochemical Company (Sipchem), has awarded ThyssenKrupp Uhde GmbH, the
engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning
contract to build a polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) resin plant. The
plant will produce PBT resin with an annual production capacity of 63
thousand metric tonne and will be located in Al-Jubail Industrial City,
Saudi Arabia. The estimated project cost is approximately SR 600 million
($160 million) and the plant is expected to start full operations at the
end of 2014.

Saudi Sipchem starts commercial operation of PBT plant
Saudi International Petrochemical Co (Sipchem) on Sunday announced the
beginning of commercial operation of Polybutylene Terephthalate Plant (PBT)
located in its complex in Jubail Industrial City.
PBT plants is owned by Sipchem Chemical Company, which is a 95%
subsidiary of Sipchem.
The annual production capacity of the project amounted to
63,000 metric tonnes, the Saudi
petrochemical firm noted.
“The commercial operation of the PBT plant, the first of its kind in the
Middle East, is an important step in Sipchem expansion and growth
strategy. The addition of the PBT plant will allow Sipchem to further
realize the benefit of its integrated package of products and will
strengthen the added value chain,” Sipchem's CEO Ahmad Al-Ohali said.
The parent firms own the whole capital of Sipchem Chemical Company, the
statement showed.
PBT is a solid thermoplastic produced from 1,4 butanediol and purified
terephthalic acid by Sipchem Chemicals Company (SCC), an affiliate of
Sipchem from 2014, with production capacity of 63,000 metric tons per
annum (mtpa).

DuPont
to license DuPont technology for a new 300,000 tons/yr.
vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) manufacturing plant to be

Arabia. DuPont will provide its VAM technology under
license and provide technical assistance for the Sipchem
VAM facility.

Sipchem announced that its affiliate the
International Polymers Company has awarded the
Engineering Design, Procurement and Construction
(LSTK) contract for the EVA/LDPE Plant to G.S.
Engineering & Construction Corporation- Korea.
The new plant will produce Ethylene Vinyl Acetate
(EVA) and Low Density Poly Ethylene (LDPE) with an
annual production capacity of 200 thousand metric
tons in its industrial complex in Jubail Industrial
City.

Sipchem Adds Acetate Production in Saudi Arabia
Saudi International Petrochemical Company(Sipchem) (Al-Jubayl,
Saudi Arabia) has joined with Rhodia Brazil(Sao Paulo, Brazil) to
design and construct two new acetate production units at its
existing petrochemical complex in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia. When
operational, the units will produce 100,000 metric tons per year
of ethyl acetate and 100,000 metric tons per year of butyl
acetate. Sipchem expects construction to begin during summer or
fall of this year, and full operations before the end of 2013.
